When Love Feels Impossible ๐โก๏ธ๐
"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you..." - Matthew 5:44 (KJV)
Dear Jesus,
This is HARD. You're asking me to love people who hurt me, annoy me, betray me. I can't do this in my own strength. I need Your supernatural love flowing through me.
Who Are the "Unlovable" in My Life? ๐ค
Lord, You know who comes to mind...
- ๐ธ That person who always criticizes
- ๐ธ The one who betrayed my trust
- ๐ธ The relative who pushes my buttons
- ๐ธ The coworker who takes credit
- ๐ธ The neighbor who complains constantly
- ๐ธ The friend who only calls when they need something
Why God Calls Us to This Crazy Love ๐คฏ
It doesn't make sense until I remember:
- I was unlovable when Christ died for me
- God loved me at my worst
- His kindness led me to repentance
- Love is what sets us apart as Christians
- Loving enemies proves God's power in us
How Jesus Loved the Unlovable:
- ๐ Ate with tax collectors and sinners
- ๐ Touched the untouchable lepers
- ๐ Forgave the woman caught in adultery
- ๐ Washed Judas's feet knowing he'd betray Him
- ๐ Prayed for those crucifying Him
If He could do that, He can help me love!
Practical Steps to Love the Difficult ๐ฃ
When I Don't FEEL Like Loving ๐
Lord, sometimes I need to choose love as an act of obedience, not a feeling:
- Love is a choice, not just an emotion
- I can act lovingly even when I don't feel it
- Feelings often follow actions
- Each choice to love makes the next one easier
The "70x7" Challenge
Jesus said to forgive "seventy times seven." That's not 490 times - it's ENDLESS forgiveness. Every day, I choose again:
- โ I forgive
- โ I release bitterness
- โ I choose love
- โ I trust God with justice
Prayer for Supernatural Love
Lord Jesus, I confess I cannot love _______ in my own strength. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Let Your love flow through me like a river. Help me see them through Your eyes - as someone You died for. Give me creative ways to show kindness. Heal my hurt so I can love from a whole heart. Use my obedience to transform both of us. In Your name, Amen.
The Miracles That Happen When We Love ๐
I've seen You do amazing things when I choose love:
- Enemies become friends
- Hearts soften (including mine)
- Cycles of hurt break
- Others see Jesus in us
- We experience freedom from bitterness
- God gets the glory!
God's Promise:
"If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat... For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord shall reward thee." - Proverbs 25:21-22
Today's Love Assignment ๐
- Think of your most difficult person
- Pray for them for 5 minutes (really!)
- Do ONE kind thing for them this week
- Thank God for using them to grow you
- Watch what God does!
